Missouri Traveler (1958): This wonderful family film, in the style of The Reivers and Sounder, tells the story of a young orphan lad on his way to Florida . After stopping in the town of Delphi he becomes fast friends with the local residents and decides to save up his money and buy a farm there. Doing odd jobs like farming and training a wild horse named Twister, the boy is now ready to buy his piece of the American Dream! Unfortunately he didn’t get the deal in writing and must now race Twister in a race for the land. Wonderful performances by Academy Award winner Lee Marvin and Brandon de Wilde (Shane). Missouri Traveler is a real masterpiece of wholesome film-making and will leave your entire family smiling from beginning to end!
